Then join the Troy Friendship Club. Activities are usually held at the Troy Community Center (on Livernois, north of 16 Mile), a monthly calendar is available with dates and times of activities. On-going activities are bowling, basketball, diner’s club, soccer league, softball, performing arts club, movie & pizza night, karaoke & dancing, bingo night, etc. You can access the Friendship Club website here or call Elaine Torvinen at (248) 524-3484 (ask for your child to be put on the Friendship Club mailing list).
MORC “Celebrating Life, Freedom, and Independence in the Community” Macomb-Oakland Regional Center, Inc. (MORC) is a private, nonprofit, human services agency. Since 1972, Morc has assisted people with developmental and psychiatric disabilities. Many have disabilities that substantially impair life functions and have no other resources available. MORC utilizes a Person-Centered Planning process, promoting choice and Self-Determination.
They provide supports and housing for children and adults with developmental and psychiatric disabilities, as well as respite care for individuals with developmental disabilities. MORC assists people in accessing available community resources, state and federal entitlements and local service organizations.
