In the Parker Press class, students learn the art of journalistic writing while publishing the school newspaper. This is a full year course where students will learn how to write news, feature, and editorial articles. Students will also utilize various computer programs including Microsoft Word, PageMaker, InDesign, and PhotoShop.

During this course, students will publish a 12 page newspaper approximately once a month throughout the school year. This year, the class plans to publish a 16 page newspaper.  In this course, students will be responsible for assignments relating to the field of journalism, quizzes/tests on presented material, information on current events, their own original articles written for publication, and the design of pages for our newspaper. Upon successful completion of this full year course, students will earn one credit.
