| Art Club
The purpose of art club is to provide an opportunity for those in
the art program as well as those who have not been able to take a class
in the department to have a creative experience as a group. The club
may also utilize materials that are not practicle for a normal class
period. The projects are often a communit endeavor, such as fundraising
jack-o-lanterns, stained glass windows, or ceramix hearts for St.
Jude's Hospital.

A.P. Club
Advanced Placement Club is organized to raise money for the Advanced
Placement Program at HPHS. The AP Program is for students who excel in
a given list of subjects. At the end of each year, the students take
an AP exam, which can possibly earn them college credit if they pass.
The tests are very costly though, and AP Club was formed to carry some
the cost.

Every
Tuesday and Friday mornings before school there will be bagel sales. All profits go to offset the
cost of AP tests ($80 each)

Diversity Club
Diversity Club is an HPHS organization set up to promote a diverse

Drama Club
Drama Club is responsible for putting on plays at HPHS for the
school and the community. The Drama Club puts on one play and one
musical for the public throughout the school year.

Earth Club
Mission Statement: HPHS Earth Club's helps to protect
and conserve life on Earth through action and education. We have fun
while saving the earth for future generations. Recycling Report: Last year, we recycled 14,150 pounds of magazines, news and office paper. By recycling paper, we saved: 135 trees, 56,800 gallons of water, 21.3 barrels of oil, 33,370 kiloWatt-hours of
electricity and 28.4 cubic yards of landfill. We also recycled 5,340
gallons of plastic, 100 pounds of batteries and magazines &
cardboard.

preventing 44,910 pounds of carbon dioxide from being emitted into our

Earth DayHelp clean Karaam park on Earth Day,Donate $100 to the Nature

We also place recycle bins in every room, and collect items to be recycled once a month

Gold Card Club
The Gold Card club consists of all students who are atleast a sophomore
and is holding a 3.4 G.P.A or higher. This club works hard and get's
rewarded for doing so. They recieve benefits like: free admission to
school sporting events, free admission to school activities, and
holiday meals. Anyone in grade 10, 11 or 12 who has a grade point
average of 3.4 or higher is automatically in the Academic Gold Card
Club. Being a member in the club entitiles you to free admission to
home sporting events, drama and choir. Members also recieve
certificates and acadamic letters at different events like luncheons
and breakfast meetings.

Marching Band
The Marching Band consists of 100+ members for 2007/2008. The show this
year was "Hearbeat". They participated in football half time shows and
several competitions. They will march again this year in the Rochester
Christmas parade which will be televised.

Spanish Club
The Spanish Club is for students interest4ed in the Spanish language and Spanish culture. Spanish club is open to all students. We are involved in many activities, such as Latin dancing, Hispanic festas, and ethnic eating.
Our members this year consists of many students with varied interests. The Spanish Club officers this year are: Presidents- Robbie Baker and Nikki VanLuven Vice Presidents- Juan Galvan-Cruz and Michael Jarnol Secretary- Maylaysia Tillman Treasurers- Jared Ward and Natan Trent

V.A.L.U.E. Club
The Viking Athletic Leadership Union of Excellence Club - better known
as the VALUE Club - is made up HPHS athletes who have been identified
by coaches and members as good students with leadership potential.
Applicantions for membership are judged based on grades,
leadership skills, and sports participation. Members include males
and females, 10th grade through 12th grade, and represent all 21
varsity sports.
The club is involved in two or three community
serivce projects each year such as helping to pack and distribute
holiday baskets and reading to elementary classes. The Value Club
also does two to three fun activities each year such as canoeing,
bowling, or whirlyball. Meetings are approximately once a month at
7:15 in the moring. Students interested in becoming a member
should inquire in the athletic office.
Viking Athletic Leadership Union of Excellence club is an organization
operated by Mr. Pratt, Mr. Barnett and Mr. Gordon. This year, there are 40 active members.
